The oil of Mas del Clos is produced in the middle of a wonderful scenery near the banks of the Ebro, a magnificent river which flows almost 600 miles through diverse landscapes.
Our fields are surrounded by scrublands where grey pines, holm and kermes oaks, rowans and dwarf fan palms are predominant among other typical Mediterranean shrubs. Our estate is situated in the village of Ruixols, very close to the hermitage of Sant Jeroni, which has been a place of pilgrimage for the inhabitants of Móra d’Ebre for many centuries.
Our olive trees grow strong thanks to the excellent environmental conditions that this area provides: water, earth and wind are the essential ingredients to obtain the best olive oil. However, these natural elements don’t just feed our trees, but also the sheep flocks that graze on our fields, which help us further in making our activity ever more sustainable.
Besides the climate, history has also left its mark on our estates. Arabs, feudal lords and craftsmen have inhabited our area throughout history and some of the most bleeding wars in our country took place here too. Our estate was used in the times of the Spanish Civil War as a field hospital to assist the injured during the Battle of the Ebro.
You can feel the flavour of this environment full of nature and history in our olive oil. Taste it and discover our landscape in it!
